How to write a review when you don't have much to say?

Contributor: Miss Anonymous Miss Anonymous
I have a dildo, that I did enjoy. The problem is, that I don't know what to say. I've written all I felt I had to say, but it doesn't comeout to be enough words. It all comes out to be about 450-500 words. What can I do to fill it up?

I don't want to feel like i'm putting out a half ass review.

450-500 is already at least 150 words more than the minimum in the standard template, and I'm pretty sure you can write a whole extended review with that many as well. Realistically, if there just isn't that much you can say about it, you'd be better off just making what you can say about it great rather than worrying about adding to the length. Just because it isn't long as hell doesn't mean that it's a half assed review and you shouldn't ever believe anybody who tells you that. I've written super long reviews that were so-so and really great reviews that barely met the minimum word limit. As long as it's as useful as you can make it, don't worry about length, just worry about the content

Do NOT feel bad about writing a shorter review. Nothing irks me more than a 2000 word review that's been filled with information I just did not need or that's already found on the product page itself. As long as you are conveying what you did or did not like about the product and anything that makes it unique or anything that stood out that you think people should know, you're review should be fine.

Please do not stress about word length, if you've met the minimum word requirements for the template and feel you've said all you had to say, there is nothing half-assed about your review.

What Sam said. I would much rather read a review that is shorter but carries all the pertinant information than to read one where someone just rambles aimlessly. I don't vote on the length but more the content.

"I would much rather read a review that is shorter but carries all the pertinant information than to read one where someone just rambles aimlessly."

Me too!

I strongly prefer to read reviews about a person's actual experience and opinion of the toy, instead of one that includes a lot of "I think it would be good for..." or "I didn't try it like this but it seems like..." statements.

So, like others have said, don't stress about the length. Sometimes there's just not that much to say about a toy, and that's just fine.

Thank you Sam, Laurel, and sexyinteas!
I'm so glad to hear that it doesn't have to be super long! For some reason i've felt if it isn't long it isn't worth reading! Or, that you don't get the full idea of the toy. I thank you all so much for replying so fast also.

Thank you Kris! I think I'm going to follow what you all have said. It actually makes complete sense to me. I don't know why, I was thinking the way that i was. Feeling anything less then 600 words would not be good.

I am sure it's just fine. Some reviews on here that are very short are the ones that have sold me on the product.

Of course! All you can really do is the best you can. Don't worry about anybody else

Some reviews are short, and some are longer - a lot depends on the product. I'd rather read a short and concise review of something that's 400 words, than a review of the same product that's padded up to 800 words just so it's longer.

Definitely don't stress about the length!

I'm glad to hear the other comments regarding quality over quantity. It's reassuring.
