Proofreading program

Contributor: Peggi Peggi
So, I know that there is the 3 month waiting period/rollover for proofreaders/editors, but I keep checking my status of the application and am so sad to see this:

I really wish I’d just get my rejection letter or acceptance letter. Boo
I’ll be excited to reapply!

Not being rejected is a good thing here, since that means that you're on file for a future rotation

You can always email Sammi to ask about a status on things too if you want.

There is no "acceptance letter" per se. You get a notification that you have been accepted and that the program is then active for you. It's the same when you are removed from the rotation. You get a notification that your application has been rejected.

After you're removed from the rotation, do you have to apply again to be considered for a future rotation?

I think I remember seeing in another thread that you do need to reapply. I think the reason is to make sure the person is still active on the forums and interested in proofing.

Yes, you do have to reapply to show that you're still around and interested.

Does anyone know when the next rotation is? It's been a couple of months since I re-applied after being rotated out; I'm wondering what the word on the rotation schedule is?

Yeah me too! And it says 72 hours at the most. I thought about submitting a support ticket but I'll wait another day.

I'd wait longer than that because they are in the process of picking their new editors and they will be due to start 1/2 from what I'm guessing since they said after the holidays.

I haven't been rejected or accepted yet, and I applied on the 11th. I dunno if I should mention it to anyone or not...

They are still in the process of going through all of the applications they've received.

The whole "72 hour" thing or whatever isn't really accurate because they save up the applications and are going to be rotations every three months.

There is another thread around here about it somewhere.

I believe the new rotations start January 2nd.

Sammi posted this two days ago in another thread:

Hi everyone,

The EdenTasks rotation will be occurring after the start of the New Year. If you’re currently an editor, you’ll be receiving an email letting you know that your rotation is ending and then you’ll receive a decline email once you are rotated out. If you’ve submitted an application and are declined, you can reapply after the rotation has been completed. Once the rotation occurs, new editors will receive notification that they’ve been activated.

If you have any questions, please feel free to post on the thread, or contact me at sammi @ edenfantasys . com .

Thanks!

You can find the thread here.

Oops - just realized I was wrong about rotations starting Jan. 2nd. My bad! I do know they'll start after the holidays though.

Haha, it's okay! The information you gave was still hella useful, thanks. (: I guess I'll be crossing my fingers that I get in.

Just curious, what are the reasons applicants get denied?

It might be best to email Sammi or contact her here on the forum and ask.

They only pick so many, so some get denied to give others a chance, but there are most likely nothing personal. They started the rotation to give everyone equal turns.

There are different reasons an applicant may be denied. If you send in an application that gets denied, it would be best to email Sammi to find out why if you wanted to know.
