Reviewer Voice

Contributor: ToyGeek ToyGeek
As someone who writes a great deal of fiction, I find that if I'm not careful, my voice in reviews will vary a bit from review to review, depending on what character I've been writing most recently. If I'm writing a character reasonably close to my natural voice, I'll just let it happen, but today my head is full of British slang, and I need to get that sorted before I can write my next review.

Anyone else ever experience anything like this?

In a way yes. I am fluent in both french and english and there are times my sentences are back asswards because the french brain takes over and it makes a whole bunch of sense to me but not to anyone else. LOL

I was always afraid of that when studying foreign languages, but fortunately for me I sucked at it too much to become fluent. Or maybe my fear was the obstacle that prevented fluency? Who knows.

I tend to have a harder time writing on things I am not too fond of. I'm not sure if it changes the tone of my reviews, but I know that it definitely isn't the way I normally right. It's a lot easier to write about something that I enjoy versus something that I don't, ya know?

I would love to write some stuff like you guys do, but I just haven't tried yet. One day!

I agree, it does seem easiest to write about products I really like. But at the same time, if I really dislike a product, or the product has some major flaws, that can be relatively easy to write too. It's the ones in the middle, the products that are just ok, that I really have trouble with.

My tone varies from day to day, honestly. Some days, I'm precise and careful with my words, other days I'm more artistic and whimsical with my words. Depends on my mood, really.

WOW I just noticed that I wrote right instead of write.

Ugh that is the last time I drink tequila and try and type with a hangover. -_-
