I've been musing since I've joined whether to show my face in my avatar. My current avatar is of me, so it wouldn't be a huge stretch to inch the focus of the picture upwards.

I'd like to hear from both those who have chosen to show their face and those who have decided not to.

I do not show my face because if I was recognized it would negatively impact the business I own. I live in a small and very conservative community and it would financially ruin me....

I don't show my face because I don't want to be recognized. Nobody I know has any idea I play with toys I don't think they need to know so all you get are my breasts.

While I think this site and all that it represents is a normal and healthy part of life, not all others feel that way. Some people in my community, employers, colleagues, schools, etc. have a problem with Facebook and other social media, I can only imagine how they'd feel if they know I was on this site to get sex toys and write reviews about them!

For most of us, it is probably inappropriate for us to show our face. As someone above said, it could impact her business, although, I would patronize her if I knew we were like minded. Then there is the stalkers. And, for me, I just don't want to scare anyone!

I've shown my face in review photos and in videos but I don't use it in my avatar because.. well... I'm not sure. I guess it's because I've had Grimace as my avatar for so long that people are used to it. I also think it's cute.

I show some of my face in my video reviews but don't want to be too easily recognized so don't show full face, my husband does the same in his videos.

When I take pictures and videos I don't think I'm going to use my face (I'm new). When I was creating my avatar, I just picked one of my not so recognizable pics.

Here's some reasons why I haven't showed my face and why I am considering showing my face:

Why not? I don't really want to explain reviewing sex toys to a future employer and acquaintances. Also talking to my family, they would prefer for me not to show my face for the above reason and for safety (the stalker potentiality).

Why maybe? The picture I am thinking of using it not what I look like day-to-day (from a photo shoot) and my close friends and family already know I review. Also I plan on blogging elsewhere and showing my face via that blog.

I don't care. The chance of someone I know randomly seeing a picture of me on here, or just them being on this site, would be very low. And I have nothing to hide, I couldn't care less who knew that I loved sex toys and reviewed lingerie.

I don't use my face as an avatar anywhere. There's no reason to share everything about yourself (and link it all together) unless you want to. Every part of my life is separate, many are anonymous, and I like to keep them that way.
