So I woke up all set to run outside and do a video review before heading to work this afternoon... but I am used to doing video reviews of dildos or (occasionally) battery powered vibes---which I just have to wash off, throw in a fresh set of batteries, and film away! But... I *might* have been using the vibe I need to video review last night... and I didn't set it in its charging cradle overnight. So now I'm twiddling my thumbs, hoping it takes its full charge with enough time left for me to take it to the park for its 5 minutes in the spotlight. If it's not charged before work, I'll have to wait til tomorrow, because it'll be dark when I get home.

How many constraints do you work around for doing video reviews?

I only do video reviews when I'm alone, so that's the major constraint. I also try to film multiple ones at the same time so I can't just edit them all at the same time too.

The one that I will add is weather, I prefer it to be sunny out (for good lighting). This poses a problem at times, I live next to a highway and the day time means traffic which at times can effect sound quality. I did do one in my kids playhouse which helped with that but I think I got to much echo. My best time is right before the sun goes down behind the trees in the evening. Problem there is the kids are home.

My roommate has to be out of the room and in a class so that she won't walk in on me. This gives me about 2 hours total in the week when she's in class and I'm not! Also has to be daytime and I can't have homework that I have to do... Once I move into my Mums house there will be less things to work around.

I haven't done a vid review in SO long. I have to be alone in the house. My kids have to be out, at school or work. I have to have charged batteries (I hate video reviews where they don't turn the toy ON!) I have to have most of the day to do it...... and I have to be in the mood (that means no migraine and little pain, plus no fibro issues going on.)

That leaves out summer (as my youngest and often my middle one are both home) days that I work (as I don't have enough time) days I run errands, (errands take time and don't leave me with enough to record, edit and take care with a review) days where I am not feeling well, etc.

As a result, I simply haven't done one in a long time.

I have fibro issues too (though now diagnosed as something else), and I don't want to be anywhere near a computer when I'm having them.

My biggest problem is a combo having the house to myself so I won't be disturbed or have any distracting back ground noise and not be preoccupied with any other responsibilities.

I've only done one, but I'm waiting for a good day to do my second one. My husband has to be home to watch the baby who needs to be asleep, it needs to be a day I'm not expecting the phone to ring off the hook, or late in the afternoon but early enough that the sun is still out. Also, it has to be worked around my husbands video gaming/down time after work and random company. Ugh.

Only problem I have is when my kids are around for the toy video reviews. For bath and body I try to do it when they are not roaming or being loud. Or when they are away.

My body its self some times protest me doing a review.... I've been super stressed right now between buying a house, finals, and surgery (next week) my body cant decide if its coming or going I'm almost contemplating write a review even though i haven't actually used it...

When I do my reviews, its usually after I have surfed around the site, done points or chit chatted on the forums. I'll take my time and do some research on some of the items. Maybe there is a material or special feature that I am working with on that particular toy or product that I don't know much about, so I will do my best to try to learn as much as I can. I go over the product page to see what others have said about it, check out its stats like size, lube useage and what not, then I will do my reviews.

It usually has to be quiet in the house, my husband has to be doing his own thing and not yacking my ear off lol. Kids have to be outside playing and baby has to be down for a nap. Which RARELY all happens at once, which is why I normally do my reviews at night. This way, everyone is in bed, its quiet and hubby is either sleeping OR on his computer in the other room. I have to be comfortable and the hosue has to be clean. Im kinda OCD about feeling like I have "other stuff" to do, so everything has to be done so I can relax and fully focus on my reviews.
