Where do you do your video reviews?

Contributor: P'Gell P'Gell
Do you have a special place to do them? Where ever it feels right? Does it matter who is home, or what the weather is? Do you vary the places where you do them?

What do you like about others (no names please) or not like about where others do their reviews. (I've done one review in my master bathroom, but it was for Toy Wash and I needed running water. I know most people don't care to watch bathroom reviews, due to sound problems etc. But, some people don't have a lot of privacy and it may be the only place some people can do them. As long as I can HEAR, bathroom reviews don't bother me.

I also may start doing some in our home library. But, we have a large garden window in the room which is open to the library. One of my neighbors tends to stop by a lot and of course my children come and go. I don't really want someone coming to the door (which you can see part of the home library from) and seeing me waving a vibrator around.

I usually use my bedroom, on my bed, or on the chair or floor. Also, I've used the bathroom (for the mentioned Toy Wash review) and my living room. I haven't done one outside, yet. Although I'd like to. We have a flight path to O'Hare right over our house and there are many doggies in our neighborhood. I have no idea how the sound quality would be.

I started in the bedroom, this was easier to hide my face. I through that out the window and started doing them in the living room. I did a few in the back yard but the weather got to be to much. Now that the temps are rising I hope to do more of them.

I do mine in my living room, sitting in front of the coffee table. It's easy to get a good shot and hide my face there.

I haven't done one yet, though I'm getting ready to stage an EPIC view review, and will probably shoot most of it in my dining room.

It depends on the type of video. For the standard instructional product video, I typically do them at a table in the bedroom for privacy. For my adult videos, I have done them in bed, in the bedroom, the bathroom, pretty much anywhere I want depending on what I'm filming.

Sometimes I do videos in other peoples rooms in the house, just depends on where the babies are hanging out. The older kids usually leave for the weekend and I am not likely to get interrupted in their rooms. I have done them outside and in my kitchen even. No one here questions me anymore when they see me carrying a tripod and a toy! They just assume I am working.

I have a few spots in my room that work well for how I like to position the camera and all that, one is sitting on my bed and the other is standing in front of one of our dressers. There's also a spot in the living room that works well for putting the camera. I don't have a problem with shooting in the bathroom if I need running water, but I prefer to be somewhere with better acoustics. I love the outdoor videos, I'm just paranoid about my neighbors peeking over the fence and being all "whatcha got there?" Also, my backyard is not nearly as impressive as some of the scenery that some of these video reviews have in their backgrounds.

I find the best lighting in my place is in my kitchen. It's the only place in my home that has a comfortable chair and table scenario. I also don't mind snacking while I'm working on my reviews hehe.
