Why do comments count as reviews?

Contributor: CS2012 CS2012
I have been trying to find an item to review but when I find one and it has 3 or more comments I am declined. Why does EF count the comments people leave as reviews? It is now almost impossible to find an item to review for free.

Does anyone else wish EF would change it so the comments don't count as reviews?

The reason why is because the actual purpose (the original purpose) of the comment section isn't to say "oh, so cute," or some other worthless thing. It's to give an opinion on the product once it's owned, almost like a review, but without having to be a member and without having to go through the trials and tribulations of writing an entire review. At this point though, I agree, it should be changed.

They do not actually count when you request a product. They do sometimes show up in the number on the product page (old product pages). I do know that i have gotten plenty of assignments that had well more than 3 comments. It is likely another reason. Just because you don't see three verified reviews does not mean they have not already been assigned. Also...if it is lingerie, they are having an issue with assigning some of that right now. Try again next week.

I've gotten products with less than three actual reviews but who knows how many comments. It prompts me to say what I can add what hasn't already been said if there are more than three actual reviews but not if there are, say, two actual reviews and a hundred comments.

I agree saying "oh that is so cute" is worthless and that is about what the majority of the comments say.

To be honest, that's all I've seen since I have been using this site, so I thought that's what it was for

Me too. I've actually done it once thinking that's what you were supposed to do. Now I feel bad. X.x

Yea I'm with Lauren. I'm pretty sure that those comments don't count towards verified reviews. Even full proper reviews that people post when they aren't a verified review don't count as verified reviews. In my experience, the comments shouldn't count towards the "3 reviews" that have been posted for a product that you want to request.
