Brand New Mentor!

Contributor: Darling Jen Darling Jen
So I just made mentor status today! And after doing my little party dance, I read up on some of the old posts about the mentor program and the FAQ and all that. But now I'm wondering, for all the seasoned mentors out there AND for the students that graduated under them, what are your little tips for being the best mentor possible? Or are there little tricks I should know?

Great advice and really good motivation! I'm so excited about it! But I guess that's obvious hehe.

Go mentor the heck out of someone! And I agree with the advice you've been given already.

"Mentoring the heck out of someone" sounds so naughty! So perfect for EF! All I need now is a willing student. {insert whip sound here}

Woooo! Ok, so I have my first student and now I have a question. I know they can receive a free product for reviewing but who assigns it? He is unable to request an assignment himself (he's not advanced) and I can't seem to assign him one myself either. Do I send a support ticket? Do we both wait to see if he's assigned one? Or does he have to purchase one first?

I've read through the FAQ and I'm at a loss. But I so want to be a good mentor

Edit: Ok, so I now think I contact the admin to request a push assignment to the student. Which admin do I contact and via what system? Support ticket, email, PM?

All right, so it took sending a support ticket to get this very, very useful link. Check it out! Mentors Requesting Assignments for Students
