I really like when we get to the final draft and we're both really excited about it. The student is excited because of how hard they've worked to improve the review and I'm excited for them! It doesn't matter if the first draft was good on its own or if we started with something that needed a lot of work, every student seems proud when we get to that last draft.

I also really like seeing the improvements in each following review. Like, the first one they submit will miss a lot of info. Then the next one I'll only have a few questions. If we do three sometimes I'm searching for something to add. I love seeing someone make amazing progress!

I think watching my students trying their best and seeing all the improvements they make is a super rewarding experience! I have and had awesome students who took what I was teaching them, and ran with it! Together, we're working hard at providing the community with the most useful reviews possible; and I'm so proud of the effort put in by my students!

I've gotten so many wonderful comments about how much they appreciate the way I go over things with them. Taking a little extra time to make sure they know what they're doing WELL on top of the things that need a little work has proven to be super important, and greatly appreciated.

I started off with an amazing mentor who was so encouraging to me, and really helped me not only go on to write the best reviews I could, but gave me a great example of the type of mentor I want to be. I'm constantly striving to give my students all the tools they need, and can't help but feel proud when I watch how successful they are, both before and after graduation!

The mentor program is amazing and I feel honored to be a part of it! My students, both past and present, totally ROCK and have made this experience so rewarding!

As a student I enjoyed having some one other than my partners to look over my reviews and help me make them better.

I guess I will just need to go back to bothering my men with pre-publishing worries now.

I'm so sorry to hear that you had a bad experience!

Each mentor teaches things differently and will be a totally different experience. As mentors, we don't go through a training program on how to help other reviewers improve themselves. We all have different teaching styles and techniques. Perhaps trying out another mentor would improve your feelings toward the program?

I am new to having a mentor but I just love having the feedback and suggestions on how to improve my review. I am amazed at how much better my one review is with a mentor than the three I did prior. I'm looking forward to learning more and I'm extremely excited that this program is in place.

I've thought I should considering so many people have seemed to have a great experience. I'm a review blogger, and I think my mentor couldn't really find much to improve on, and instead of saying "great job" tried to find things to improve. Also, my mentor needed to be reminded several times to look over my stuff, so it's possible a different mentor would bring a whole new perspective to the program for me.

My favorite part of being a student is learning new things to add in my reviews that I wouldn't have thought to put in before. It's really nice having another person show you what they think is important to write about so that you can put in as much info as possible.
