Montly Limit for Students?

Contributor: Elaira Elaira
EDIT: I totally meant Monthly.

I'm sitting here wondering why I get capped at accepting 5 students per month when I see other mentors are able to accept more students. There is a member who became a mentor a little after me and was able to have more students than I was allowed and I'm wondering how this happened.

I'm also wondering about students that I accept who cancel class. I just had this happen, as well, when I told a student I would like them to write a non-assigned review before we talked about getting them an assignment, and I see that they now have a new mentor. Of course this really frustrates me. Is that going to count against my total students for the month?

Everyone has a monthly cap (I thought it was 4, but it could be 5). This was instituted awhile back because a few mentors were getting a majority of the student requests. This was designed to even it out more equitably. And yes, I believe a class that is cancelled, whether by you or the student, still counts.

If you plan on requiring a non-assigned review beforehand, you may want to make that clear in your profile or in a message to the prospective student before you accept them to avoid the issue in the future.

It's a 5 student cap in 30 days. If I remember the coding correctly, you can't have more than 5 at a time and no more than 5 in the same 30 day period.

Hope that makes sense!

Unless there's a glitch, you can have more than 5 at a time because I currently have 9. I think the cap is only on the number you can accept in 30 days.

This is what I was going to say. I've got more than 5 at the moment.
