Questions on the mentor program!

Contributor: Peggi Peggi
I've signed up as a student for the mentor program, but the page doesn't really give a lot of description as to what the program really is, so I have a few quick questions. I scanned through some of these posts to see if I could answer some of my questions and I did, but I have a few more.

Once I have found a mentor that I am interested in, and I "request" them, it was to my understanding that they have to accept me as a student? If so, will it alert me in classes, or on the "mentor list" as to whether or not I've been accepted?

And from what I've read, "classes" are simply submitting reviews to my mentor for them to review and go over with me for edit? Is this correct?

Also, I wondered if that is the case, would I send these in messages?

If anyone can just go over the basics on how this works I'd appreciate it

Basically, yes. You'll get a notification saying you've been accepted. Then you submit a review for an item and the mentor will help you include all of the pertinent information for that toy. You'll get two different types of notifications for this part, the first tells you that your mentor has requested you edit the review and then a message from the mentor with their tips. You can defend your reasoning or accept the changes and go from there. It's a give and take process. After your mentor feels you are ready to fly on your own, they graduate you from the class and make an announcement on the forum that you are now an advanced reviewer and we all rush in and welcome to you the wonderful world of sex toy reviews! That's it in a nutshell. If you have any questions about what kind of items are available for review, the time to ask is when you are accepted to the program. You'll get a welcome message giving you the run down on how it all works and anything specific to that mentor.

Thanks Stormy, this summary is great. I think there should be something similar to this on the mentor program page for those who aren't aware of the details of the program.

That's not a bad idea, maybe I'll copy/post this on there? I was really confused when I first read about it, because it was so vague on what to do!

Viktor did an excellent summary in his Student's Guide to the Mentor Program. It's worth reading.
