Want to become a student!

Contributor: KinkyKatieJames KinkyKatieJames
I have a rank of 4.6 and an advanced reviewer. I want to still join a mentoring program because I always think there is room for improvement.

From what I have heard, it's not as easy to get into a mentor program as an advanced reviewer since there is no incentive for the mentor him/herself. Is this correct? If so, is there anything I can do to improve my chances of being accepted as a student?

I've been denied once, so any bit of advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Are you sure you were outright denied? If it says 'Canceled by System' it doesn't mean that you were denied, it means that they accepted another student that had also sent them a request.

A lot of mentors are willing to accept students that are already advanced reviewers. No, we don't get as rewarded for working with an advanced reviewer, but for those of us who do it for more than a gift card, it is still rewarding in other ways.

My best advice, send a message to the mentor you're interested in. Explain that you're already an advanced reviewer and see if they're willing to accept you for their next available opening. Some might say no, but you'll easily find someone that is willing. I hope this helps!

I agree. I'm still willing to mentor Advanced Reviewers, if they seriously want to improve. Message someone and go from there!

A lot of mentors are willing to accept ... more
One says denied and another says cancelled. I'm not giving up just yet. I have sent messages, so I will make sure I do that again when I request another. Thanks for the input! It gives me hope that I may be accepted.

Thanks! It gives me hope to see that the people who replied to my post said they still accept advanced reviewers.

You can only have one request out at a time. If you send out a 2nd request while the first one is active, the first gets canceled by the system.
