Thanks for the update!! Does the time to review also change? It takes Sure Post 10 days to get to me compared to 2-3 days for USPS. Can we change the free shipping to another method if ordering with the assignment?

What about those of us who can't get UPS Sure Post? UPS doesn't deliver to me. Do I have to pay $9 for USPS on an assignment for now?

If you get a late notice, just reply and let us know. Not a problem. And yes you will be able to upgrade to other methods if you like.

I am not sure about this, until is implemented. I know that you will be able to upgrade, but I am not sure what will happen if the shipping is not available. I will look into that.

With Sure Post, UPS isn't who delivers the package. From what I understand, UPS moves the package around the country but ultimately delivers it to your local post office for the actual delivery to your home or po box.

So it *should* work for most people, I believe?

I haven't tried it lately but before it was saying that I live in a remote domestic location and the only shipping option I had was USPS, which isn't a big deal to me. I don't mind paying for the USPS option, I was just curious

I also only have the option of USPS Priority, even though I live in quite a huge city. If anyone could let me know what this means to me, that would be great!

What's Sure Post? Will we be able to upgrade shipping if we want (and pay for it)?

UPS Surepost is delivered by the post office, after being sent through UPS shipping to your local post office, so it will be fine for anyone who gets post office mail (which should be virtually everyone in the US). I live in NW Washington state, and it takes Surepost packages a LONG time to get to me from the East coast, generally about 2 weeks. Sometimes even shipments from Seattle, which is roughly 100 miles from here, can take 4-5 days.

Also, the tracking isn't as complete or as reliable. When the package is first shipped, you track it through UPS. Then after it's transferred to your post office, you track it through the USPS site, using the same tracking number. I've noticed that the tracking seems to get dropped (no updates) quite often, and the package will show up at my house even though the last tracking info says it's at some far away state.

But I'm happy to have EF use it if it keeps the shipping free.

Bleu - Gary said we will be able to pay to upgrade.

Here are some details from UPS on Surepost:

Gary - I'm glad EF is trying to find ways to cut costs yet still have us get free shipping. I hope this is something that will be able to be continued after the official policies are released.

It would be great if the IT people could get the system to use the tracking info to time stamp when the package is actually delivered, and start the timer for the review to be done based on the "received" date. With Surepost there will be a lot of variation in receipt dates and it can take up to 2 weeks to arrive, and maybe even longer.

In situations like this, the review submission period is not as much of a concern. If you receive a late notice, just reply that you're still waiting and/or testing the item.

For those of you having issues with the system saying you live in a "remote location" and you know you don't, try typing out - for example, the word "street" instead of the abbreviation "st".

We had the same issue for a while but after I did that, it was fixed! It'll give you a pop up box with a suggested address with "st" abbreviated again - just tell it to stick with what you typed and you're good to go!

My problem is that in the checkout where you chose your shipping you have two options; 48 Domestic States; PO box; or Alaska, New Mexico, Hawaii, and other properties that the US owns which aren't states. 48+3 makes 51, but I got over that a while ago.

I don't even have any option other than Priority. If there's no free shipping it may actually be cheaper to get things sent to my PO box or something. :/

It doesn't for me the form insists that there is no service to me for sure post even though there is a UPS hub 10 minutes from my home and we have a post office in town. I always have to go USPS or pay 1-2 dollars more for shipping.
