#AskEden - Review Program Product Search Update

Contributor: Heather Shadrick Heather Shadrick
I think it would be a lot easier for contributors to find products to review if the 'Product Search' was updated. There shouldn't be out of stock items or items that are impossible to get approved for review(items with 3 or more reviews/pending or otherwise)just sitting there. Almost all the time lately, nothing is available. I would rather go to the 'Product Search' page and see NOTHING than to have to sift through that huge list to still find NOTHING. My past couple of reviews have been buyout reviews. Yes, of course, I want the product and don't mind paying for it, but I love being active on EF and my blog, but it's getting harder to be that way! Anyway, it's just a suggestion that I have been thinking about for the past couple of years I have been with EdenFantasys. I think making a change to this would help people out a lot. Thanks for reading. What do you think?

I agree completely. It's very frustrating and confusing to have to sift through products that no longer fit the category I'm searching for ie. free products/no reviews

This is brought up all the time, and in theory it is great. In reality, the time it would take to do the overhaul (as far as the one available now, and switching to a new one) would drastically slow EVERYTHING down.

The problem isn't necessarily with the search... It's with people taking an assignment and never reviewing the item, or requesting something and then never taking it. The system can only run with the information it has available.

Example: If CindyLouVibetester69XX Xlover requests a toy, gets approved, receives it and then life happens and she forgets to do the review, the product search still sees that she got the item, but it also see that there aren't 3 sponsored reviews on said item.

Yes, there are problems... as with any search feature on any site from time to time... but they can't be insta-fixed or I promise it would have already been done. Switching the inventory from one search to another alone would take FOREVER.

As far as the out of stock items, they may not be in Eden's "inventory" yet, but they may still have a couple of the products ready for the Descriptive Review program/first community reviews. I can vouch for this as I've been approved for "out of stock" items and had them shipped within a few hours, all the while never showing that an item is in stock.

Eden takes the best care of us that it can!

That pretty much sums things up. While the assignment portion of the review program is a cornerstone, it does not make up the entirety of the foundation. If there's something you really want to review, there is another option - a buy-out review for 30% off.

Or you can catch things on sale, if you already have buyout reviews waiting!

So...what is this going to look like in the future? Same problem or are there plans for development?

I think that the eden website should send out a "reminder" email to write the review a week before it is due. If the person fails to write the review a week after it's due, they should be temporarily suspended from receiving free assignments. There are so many people on here who take writing the reviews seriously and it's a shame that other people are abusing the system . . .
