Surprise Me assignments – forum batch 2 – first come, first served.

I'm using this intro each time - for anyone who missed the last batch and as a helpful reminder. Surprise Me assignments are not what they were a year ago – they’re not toys we already carry (for the most part) – now they are toys that have been sent to us by manufacturers and distributors so that we can decide if we want to carry them. These assignments are not Description Reviews; they are regular verified reviews (just like if you’d requested the item).

So, assigning these sponsored toys through Surprise Me was getting a little tough – either toys were taking a week or two to be accepted or they were being declined because the people I assigned them to saw the photo and the status, were put off by it and declined. All of this was hampering the process...so I wanted to come up with a new way (for now, at least) to match these toys up better and get them out faster.

Do not even think about requesting one of the Surprise Me assignments until you read this and understand the whole deal:

These products are not for sale on our site and are marked in system as ‘Discontinued’ (or similar) because we have not fully uploaded/ set them up for sale – which is also why the photos are not Eden quality and the properties are sparse. Your product and material preferences cannot be applied because the products are not entered fully in that way. You cannot find them on the site either.

We have not decided whether to carry the products yet…and you get to help us decide.

These are Assigned reviews (meaning verified). This also means they can only be assigned to Advanced Level contributors. FOR 'SURPRISE ME' ASSIGNMENTS ONLY, there is no waiting period, they do not count towards your 30 days and you can do more than one Surprise Me assignment a month.

That does *Not* mean that you should ask for 2 assignments in the same day, from the same batch or even the same week, just accept the assignments that you can handle and complete them in a fair turn-around time. I will notice

These are still assigned/verified reviews, so you will not be able to request an assignment if you have 2 or more outstanding assignments that are waiting to have reviews written.

The products will be assigned for onsite reviews but it’s ok to continue the review on your blog with pics, video and additional commentary; however, the onsite review must be a complete review. There will be a little message underneath saying “This review was sponsored by ‘manufacturers name here’. However, no editorial content was compromised.” Once your review is up, the photo will be next to it but unless we decide to sell the product, there will not be a price or the option to add it to a wishlist.

Ok...all that being said...all prerequisite info shared...now to the how-are-we-doing-this thing info: Different. Differently. That’s how!

I am listing 10 products at a time in forum threads. TEN. I can only list the info I have, so I will list the name of the toy and any description I think might be helpful. 1 – 10. And guess what, it’s first come, first served. So, if you think you might want to try one of these products, you reply to the thread and say “I want that Humungo Dong pls” – make sure you put the name and the number of the one you’d like assigned to you.

Monday through Friday, I will check these threads daily and assign the toys as they are requested. I need you to be timely about accepting the assignments - within 24 hours, please. And only decline the product you requested with good reasoning.

And I will not being putting up another batch of 10 until all of the 10 below are assigned and accepted. Fear not, request away – we have lots and lots of toys and I’ll make sure there’s an interesting mix in each thread. And I’ll re-post all of this info each time, so that anyone who missed this one won’t be confused.

If any products get requested then declined, I will post about the toy being available for dibs again.
