Ranking/Reviews/Editin g

Contributor: Miss Anonymous Miss Anonymous
I've ranked up high enough where I don't need an editor, to review my reviews. It feels not normal. (HA-HA) I'm so use to submitting it, and to not do it anymore is throwing me off.

Did you feel the same?

It's just become second nature to write, notice a mistake, go back and edit it out, notice another and go back and edit THAT out, and, and, and...

Luckily I have some good friends that get all up in my inbox if I miss something.

When the proofreading program started I had a high enough rank that I didn't have to submit my reviews to an editor. It was a nice change to be able to publish my reviews and have them pop up right away instead of submitting them to the administrator and waiting for them to appear.

I think that my rank was high enough before the proofreading program started, so I was used to submitting them to the Administrator and just having them published from there. Now I just make sure that I have everything all set before I submit it because they publish right away.

Pretty much the same for me. I know I still leave mistakes but there a few close friends that point them out now and then.

Congrats on making it this far Miss Nessa.

I was already awesome sauce and here when the editors even started, so it doesn't make a difference to me.

However, I do not feel that just because someone moves up in rank they don't need editors anymore. Rank is accumulated mostly through activity on the site, not by how good of a writer someone is. The mentor program is fantastic for that!

I have to agree that it is sooo much better to be able to publish our own reviews.

It was such a pain in the ass waiting for weeks, sometimes up to a month , for a review to publish. Especially when you write a good one and you are soo excited about sharing it!

I just graduated from my mentor after two reviews and am really enjoying the experience. Can't wait until I get where you are!!

Weeks or months? Is this new toys from site or toys you already own?

Back In The Day before the Eden Tasks program (and, rarely, now, when we're super backlogged due to some kind of promotion going on causing people to write reviews like mad) reviews took weeks to publish, because they all had to be checked over and approved by a staff member. The process is much more efficient, now.

At least, that's what I think Cherry is referencing.

You can still go through the Mentor Program as an advanced reviewer if you feel you need a safety net.

Another thing that helps is a good word processing program, like Word or Open Office (which is free).

Right you are! When I started it took 3-5 days at the least for a review to publish, and there were times when I freaked because it took 3 weeks.

Now even the description reviews (that still need to get sent to an admin to approve) take a day or two. Before it took a long time, there were too many reviews and not enough publishers!

We are just shy of reaching that point, so we will have to get back with you. We are currently at 5.4, and holding.....come on.

I felt really strange when I first got past the point where an editor was required!

In order to catch my own mistakes, I learned to write something during day (or night, or whenever) but then stop reading it for a while (12 hours at least?) and then look at it again the next day before publishing, so I have a better chance of not publishing something with errors. It's just a little bit more responsibility on our shoulders

Awesome job, Miss Nessa!

I did not even know they did this until someone told me. I am almost there, so I do not know yet.
