From the Contributor Ranking explanation page:
"Review activity reflects the ratio between the number of your reviews relative to the average maximum of reviews between the top contributors."

What exactly does this mean? What is an "Average maximum of reviews"? and exactly how many people are included as "top contributors"?

It would be more precise to tell: Review activity reflects the ratio between the number of your reviews relatively to the average number of reviews between top 5 contributors by number of reviews.
