Editing a review that has parts from an already published review

Contributor: salaciousrex salaciousrex
I'm a new editor, and I've had two reviews from people who say that their partner has published a review of that product and they wanted to review it too. In both cases, they took the SAME review their partner did but added in a few of their own touches

They do have a few different parts (a few more/less sentences, and they bolded some different words), and different experiences, but they could at least REWRITE the general info about these products!

I know you're not supposed to publish plagiarized reviews, and I'm wondering if I'm wrong for not publishing these two reviews?

That's when I submit it to the administrator. Personally, I think it's plagarism.

If in doubt, you're always best off either sending them to the administrator or letting JR know about it right away.

I agree with you. Do not publish something you are not certain about, if nothing else, send it to the administrator. I know they are busy, but plagiarism was one issue that is discussed in the faq's. Great job!!

Okay, I was so afraid I was doing the wrong thing! But it just didn't seem right to have 2 identical reviews published on the same product, so I've sent them both to the admin. Thank you guys

I think that's plagiarism to copy parts of any review regardless of whether it's a partner's review or a strangers. You did the right thing!
