So, now that I am back to being active on the site. Is it even possible to get a free assignment anymore? I put in a bunch of requests hoping that one of them would be excepted BUT it has been like 4 days and still no deny or accept.

How does the review program work now?

I believe you can still get free assignments. You have to pick an item that does not have 3 reviews, or 3 pending reviews/requests. The wait time can be up to a month for the assignment by what it says. I applied for my first free assignment four days ago too and it hasn't been denied or accepted either. Other than free assignments there's of course the buy out option where you get 30% discount in exchange for a review. Not sure if you're aware of this but just in case: you can also add a buy-out to your free assignment(when it's accepted) order so the items ship together. You can only have one free assignment every 30 days I think, and only 6 buy-out assignments at once. I haven't read anything that indicates any changes in the review program except that the mentor system is down and that the templates for reviews are slightly different I think.

Yeah I guess you have to be patient now. I remember you would put in a request and like BOOM within an hour they made a move. It sucks because I would use my points to get the toy I was saving for BUT no 15% thing sucks. I love this site still but it just isn't as active as before. I wonder what happened that the site just dropped everything like that.

Many people want an assignment so whilst I don't know how they decide on assignments I imagine it takes a while to sort unfortunately. Also like most things it was probably a small group of people who abused the system and thus ruined it for everyone. Then of course it's such a big change that various people probably quit, but those who didn't quit because of it are probably working, in school, or dealing with life in general. Things will probably be active during summer/holidays.

I've put in numerous requests for Free Assignments over the last few years and NEVER RECEIVED A SINGLE ONE. They've all been "Cancelled by the Administrator," usually after a few days of sitting there. The system won't allow you to take a Free Assignment if there are already 3 people who've requested it, so that's not the reason they're being denied. Unfortunately, on the one item I actually questioned, I received a vague answer of "they're no longer offering those types of products for Free or Buyout assignments" (lingerie).

That can still be the reason it was declined. If they get multiple requests at once and have not actually assigned them yet you can still try to get one. Lingerie has not been available for assignments since I believe March.

In my experience, it's totally hit or miss. I use the review product search to find things that are available for free and and I hardly get the ones I request. But the key is being persistent, I think. Eden gets new things all the time, so I check pretty much every day.

Actually, things are most active during the winter when people are stuck inside due to the weather.

People were abusing the generosity of the site; changes had to be made.

I didn't think you could still get them, but I'm going to try and see how it goes Don't be too disheartened if it doesn't work out! Even when Eden had a ton of administrators, the free assignments were tough to get.

Regardless of the quantity of staff, monthly assignments were still handled by only one person.

There's always one person who ruins a good thing for everyone... Or as my roomie says "THIS IS WHY WE CAN'T HAVE NICE THINGS!" xD

But really, I was soooo disappointed to come back to this, I was /stoked/ to start writing again. A bad relationship took me away from what I love doing... OH WELL.

At least I have my own and great job, I can buy things once in a while... But I doubt it'll be worth writing reviews anymore. It's just not as fun as it used to be, like a sexy, grownup version of Christmas when a package would come in.
