How do I find toys free for the reviewing process....

Contributor: FEEL.FREE FEEL.FREE
How do I find toys I have a desire in reviewing and have under six reviews. It seems most toys have a minimum of 20 reviews even new products have video responses and several reviews....what gives!!

And when or if I ever find one whats the deal on getting it to my house, if the toy is free does the person receiving it pay for shipping or is the whole deal free for the reviewing purpose.

You can go to Account and then Review Program. Then click Product Search. There is a drop down box that says "Review Status" where you can filer down to product with no reviews. There is not currently a way to filter products that have less than three reviews. Products must have less than three reviews to qualify, not less than six.

Free assignments ship for free. Buyout assignments ship for the going shipping rate, so if the total cost qualifies you for free shipping than it would ship for free (currently $59 in the US). If the total cost of the buyout order is less than the free shipping cost, the buyer pays the shipping.

Hope that helps!

First of all, to receive free toys you must become an advanced reviewer.

There are two ways to do this.

a. Write two reviews and submit them and then go before the community for a vote. Sounds like the quickest way to become an advanced reviewer - and it can be.

b. Sign up under a mentor and submit reviews to them and have them help you learn to write even better reviews. They can graduate you as early as 2 reviews or later if you want to work with them longer. Once they graduate you - you are an advanced reviewer. You can find the mentor information here. I personally believe this is the best way to go because you learn how to write better reviews which will get higher votes which will get you a higher rating which will get you higher valued free toys.

Then - you go to the review program page and you use product search to find things to review. The amount of the item you can request will be based on your ranking which you can find the amounts here.

You can request one free Eden-sponsored assignment per month. You can also request one free manufacturer sponsored assignment at a time. In addition, as you look at items, you can use the "grab it" option on the top right hand side of the page (about 1/4 of the way down) to grab an item and put it in your assignment cart.

You can do up to 6 "buyout" assignments this way per month - which allows you to buy the item(s) at 30% off. Unfortunately, I don't remember about shipping on these assignments.

BUT - your free Eden sponsored and manufacturer sponsored assignments do not have shipping costs to them - they are "free".

I hope this helps.

Ah, did not even check to see if she was an advanced reviewer or not. Thanks for including that info!

I would also recommend going the mentor route. Your reviews will benefit from it and your mentor can also help you learn your way around the site. As Hot 'N' Sexy TexasMama said, the better your reviews are, the better your rank is. The better your rank, the higher the value of the free assignment.

As an editor this round, I include that information for all new reviewers when I let them know what I edited. I also share suggestions that a mentor might have made for that review so they can see how it would help.

For instance - if you did a vibrator review but didn't give size, materials or cleaning instructions, etc. - when I share about the mentor program, I'll say that a mentor would point things like that out.

Hopefully, more people will go the mentor program as I think it really helps make better reviewers.
