Reviewing Sets

I got a set item today (the Knead Me set) which I'll be reviewing soon. As many of you well know, the Knead Me is comprised of the Afterglow Candle in the Dark Vanilla scent and the M massage stone.

I was wondering whether in sets like this if it's okay or "appropriate" to write a review on each item as an individual instead of or in addition to as a set? I got it on buyout, so I know I have to write a review of the actual set. But I was curious whether it would be frowned upon or something to also write a separate review just on the stone or candle.

Hmm. I think it depends. I know that I've done it, but that was mostly when I would get a chance to use part of a kit before the whole kit and wrote reviews for the things I used as I used them. It is generally frowned upon, but not the worst thing that you could be doing.

Yeah. I wasn't sure.

Part of me feels like it would be appropriate because 1. both items are available independently of each other and can and will oft be used independently and 2. at least as of now, I have a feeling that I'd personally judge them a little differently as individuals than as a kit, if that makes any sense.

I could probably fit both sides into one review, but I'm worried I wont be able to keep my focus enough as I tend to be a little more than long winded anyway. Bleh. I'll figure it out.

I think if it wasn't an assignment it would be ok to just do 2 separate reviews for the 2 parts, but since you got it as a buyout and have to do a review for the set as a whole, another review for either part would be redundant.

I personally wouldn't. If you use the set for a while and say, decide to get another candle then I would say you can write a review on the candle, but for now I would stick to reviewing the whole set.

If the item is a set, you'd do a review on the whole item someone would be ordering.

If different parts are available by themselves, you could do not-assigned reviews with more information than the first review.
