anal douching

I am trying to introduce ass play to my wife and have only tried the finger so far..but I afraid to bring up touching or enemas because it will probably turn her off on the whole idea...is it necessary to have enema prior to anal?

I would say an enema is generally overkill. I do recommend having a good BM beforehand, and anal douching if you want to be extra clean. The nice thing is that anal play (generally) only involves the rectum, which is a place where feces may pass, but do not reside. Visiting the restroom prior to play takes care of most of this. To get the lower rectum flushed out requires only a small amount of water, maybe 4-5 fl. oz. at a time. Enemas are generally a lot more water, and aren't really needed, in my opinion.

Yeah she had a bad experience with her ex(I.e. painful) so I am slowly trying to ease her into this(no pun intended) thx for the advice...

I might actually recommend the book Anal Pleasure and Health. It's a good read. A bit dated, but honestly not much has changed with anal play (except for more and better toys and materials!). It has a lot of exercises, both physical and mental, that can help one to relax and become more comfortable with his/her body. If there's been pain (trauma) in the past, letting her do the initial exploring could be beneficial.

In my case, after talking to my partner about trying anal I used a water/castile soap enema in private- just to make sure everything was clean. He never suggested it, but I knew when and where we would be doing it. I never told him I did that either. You don't need much and it made me feel at ease knowing I was clean.
Maybe try to discuss that you would like to try it out. Maybe even suggest she do private reading etc if she wants to instead of talking to you about it.
Not that you two shouldn't communicate, because you should. But sometimes its easier to talk about after you've researched on your own time.

enemas are not the best idea. it robs the anus of natural lubricants thus making her more susceptible to anal tearing. use a good lube, and of course, talk to her about it.

I have found, it's not always possible to have a BM just beforehand - especially if you have a planned play session from time to time.
And I always find it gives me peace of mind to have an enema a few hours before anal play. It makes me relax and just totally go with the pleasure.

Otherwise, I'm more on edge. Just because someones bowels work one way, doesn't mean everyones are the same. I think you just need to play around to see what works best for your wife. What works for one may not work for another.
