I am wondering about anal toys, specifically silicone plugs in my case, that would be nice for long-term wear. I am trying to work my way up to penetration with my partner, which is not at all possible currently, as he is about 8 1/2" long, and fairly thick. I am worried that I won't ever be able to let him have anal sex with me comfortably, even though I know he really wants to! I wish I could do it now, but I just can't.
I am a beginner, I just got the Silicone Beginners Kit but it is too wide near the base, and I think it might not be flexible enough for me to keep it in comfortably.
Any suggestions, plug recommendations, or any tips of any kind would be appreciated!

Mistre$$,
You said you're a "beginner" at anal play. And you said you want to open your butt up to your partner's thick, 8-1/2" shlong, because he "really wants" to have anal sex with you. All this is fine, except for the part about your partner's "really want" to have anal sex with you.
Are you playing with anal toys for him or for yourself? Whichever, do you like putting things up your ass? If not, then stop! Tell your partner to find another butt to fuck.
But if it feels good and you like it, then when you ask for anal toys for "long term wear," you're going about opening your ass the wrong way. "Long term wear" is for advanced anal players. You're a beginner.
As a beginner, you probably know that you have to start with small plugs (and of course, use plenty of lube). The kit you have seems to serve beginners well, but when you complained that "it is too wide near the base," it seems to show you don't know that the "secret" to opening up your butt is patience and practice. Sure, the base is too wide now, but with patience and a few more sessions, you'll easily pass it up your butt. And in doing so, you'll open up your butt, just a little.
And then you insert a plug that's just a little wider to open your butt just a little more. When you do this, you might feel a burn. It's just your muscle, the "sphincter," stretching. When you feel this burn, stop and, very important, slowly back out. Rest, and go back in. Some consider this burn "good pain," and enjoy it as part of the fun with anal toys. Hopefully, you will also enjoy this "good pain," but do stop if you can't stand it; there will be another day to enjoy it. (There's a "bad pain," that's sharp and acute. When you feel bad pain, you were too fast or not relaxed enough or didn't use enough lube, or a combination. Often, with bad pain, you will see your blood on the plug or a dick. You should then stop further play and wait a few days to start again and don't make the same mistakes.)
Practicing often, for, say, two or three times each week, will give the best results. You'll know you've made progress when you find that the plug that once gave you "good pain," no longer does--it even slips in easily.
Eventually, and sooner than you think, with practice and patience, you'll open your butt to your partner's delight, as he'll able to fuck your ass with abandon. (You should know that you'll need to warm up your ass by stretching it before you allow your partner in. Unlike in anal sex videos when the actor penetrate the other actor's ass who seemingly had not warmed up.) Hopefully, during your path to open your butt to your partner's dick, you'll discover that anal toys and anal play are enjoyable in themselves. With this "discovery," you'll want to graduate from beginner to intermediate and to advanced anal player, when you can finally explore anal toys for "long term wear."
I hope I was helpful.
(BTW, for what it's worth, I suggest you try the "Slim" and the "Severin Small" silicone plugs from Tantus (both are sold by EF) as "adjuncts" to your kit. The Severin will give you a nice "beginner's burn." Its Medium brother is a good first "serious" plug that takes you into intermediate level. From there, you'll have lots of toys to experiment with and to advance your play--and hopefully enjoy all along the way.)
