I am interested in buying this but I have never done an anal douche. How messy is it? Do you end up with excess water coming out?

Water in = water out, in my experiences. I don't have this product in particular, but I'm a supporter of anal douching. Pretty much eliminates any surprises and boosts one's confidence. As far as messy, you should be good as long as you use over a toilet. Just make sure that you leave a few minutes for all the water to work its way out.

In the review I touched on that issue at the end:

In total I’ve used the product 5 separate times, 4 with the thin nozzle and 1 with the ribbed nozzle; every time the thin nozzle was used there was no mess, the one time the ribbed nozzle was used water ended up ‘leaking’ everywhere. That was enough for me to decide I didn’t like it. I haven’t tried the ribbed nozzle again and I don’t really intend to, not only was it messy, but contrary to what the box said, it wasn’t very ‘pleasurable’ either.

If you're using the thin nozzle it shouldn't be too much of an issue, but the ribbed one I'd suggest using in the tub just in case.

I got this on amazon a while back, but it was a waste of money. The black bulb part is this disgusting material that feels like it belongs in a factory or something. It's hard to describe, but it doesn't feel *clean*, like it might rub off on you.

As for messyness, the answer is yes, yes it is. The way the bulb is made, you can't really squeeze it empty all the way, and if you let go after squeezing it it will suck the water back into it (if you can believe that). The end result is that when you pull it out water goes everywhere.

The ribbed nozzle was even worse -- water sprays everywhere as soon as you try to squeeze it to begin with. On top of that, the plastic is made from a cheap mold so there's a seam line running down the sides of the nozzle and it's prominent enough to be borderline painful when you insert it.

So far my best luck has been with buying the cheap disposable enema things you can find at most drug store or supermarkets. Pour out the stuff that comes in it, rinse it, then refill it with water. Those have a special valve thing in the nozzle that prevents all the problems described above, and come pre-lubricated!

Yes! As with all douches, you have to get a little messy to get your insides sparkling clean. As KaraSutra mentioned, I would highly suggest using the thin nozzle first. When removing the nozzle, you'll want to do so quickly so that your sphincter can tighten up before any liquid runs out. This is a bit more difficult with the ribbed attachment, since it's being stretched a little bit. I don't find the ribbed stem any more pleasurable than the thin, probably because it's just hard plastic, but it does clean the sides a little better than the thin stem since it sprays directly on them. To be safe, it's probably best to apply in the tub, at least the first few times. Simply put, if you're careful, the only mess will be in the toilet!

(Remember though, a mess now is avoiding a mess later! I promise it's worth it and makes anal play a lot less stressful.)

For bulb enemas the design really matters. If the nozzle isn't done right then it can be very uncomfortable or hard to use, and you can get water leaking out around a large or highly textured nozzle - in general smooth and smaller is best. The bulb should be easy to squeeze and secure in your grip as well, so it doesn't slip out of your hands.

Enemas in general are messy, but the mess can be minimized if you make sure you can get to a toilet fast and get good equipment.

Well of course there is excess water, that is the whole point. It's best to do it in the shower or sitting over the toilet (I prefer toilet). It just feels like using the restroom. Just go until you feel it all come out. Repeat once or twice, and wipe. Good to go!

I too had this problem. The ribbed one was the one I tried first and had a terrible experience with it.

I posted a review of it just a couple of days ago and love mine. I also usually only use the smaller nozzle. Sometimes, if I do multiple cycles, I don't get all the water out until I get up and walk around for a bit first then use the restroom again, but that's usually only when I would use the larger ribbed nozzle.

It's a bit more trouble to get out and put away, but if you get one of the "bag" type units you don't need to squeeze. Until you learn how much water your rectum takes by feel it's a good idea to only put in a cup or two so you don't get water going up high, which is not necessary, more uncomfortable, and takes a lot longer to come out.

It's an enima. It is what it is. It's only as messy as you're preparation for cleanup is. Plain and simple, use it in the shower/tub and forgo all worry.

If I use too much water I'll get cramps and it takes forever for all the water to come out. I'm good with two 4.5 ounce enemas to prep for anal play.
