Diameter or circumference?

I prefer circumference, just because I can easily compare it to my man. I don't want to do the math, hehehe.

I like having both. I measure all of my toys to see how the reality compares to the advertising.

One thing I got from this discussion is that diameter isn't necessarily going to be circumference/pi for every dildo. I guess I need to dust off the calipers and re-measure everything now!

I know circumference can be more accurate but I always find the diameter easier to picture in my mind.

Diameter but I can convert it quickly from circumference.

Diameter can be misleading at times. I like to know about both in a review.

I look at diameter first

I prefer diameter but accidentally voted for circumfrence. I can visualize the size quicker when given the diameter.

I prefer both measurements, but diameter if only one is given.

Voted both. Putting comparison pics on reviews helps a lot too.

I voted diameter because that's what I go by for girth when buying toys.

I really like to be able to have both measurements. But if I had to pick one, I'd go with circumference. It's just easier for me to think about/visualize the girth of cylindrical/semicylind rical objects in terms of circumference (though that seems to be the opposite of most people here....I guess I'm just strange).

I really appreciate it when the pictures of an item on its product page include one or more photos of someone holding the toy in their hand. I know it's not a totally accurate way to judge size, but having the hand for scale, combined with the toy's measurements, really goes a long way it helping me accurately envision whether a toy is the right size for me.

Diameter first and foremost.

If however the toy is not totally round (say for example a tenticle shape) then circumference is the way to go.

I like what ScottA wrote back in 2012 and many others reiterated, most toys don't have a circular cross section.
Indeed one of my current favorites has rather large bumps that increase the beginning diameter by twenty five percent or more but only on one side of the toy. Diameter of that toy would not give a good idea of how much my hole would have to stretch to accomodate those bumps but circumference does tell me exactly what I need to know.

I've learned over time to now picture circumference, in my head just as easily as I would diameter.
So my vote would be for circumference.

I like good size circumference. Thick.

Circumference for me. Once I had a basis for what was just right/too large, the circumference is better for me because that's overall around the toy, not just the widest part. Some toys are asymmetrical (or an oval) so the diameter is different depending on which way you measure. the circumference is the same no matter what as long as you do it right.

I prefer the circumference. I can get a better mental picture of how much I will be opened up.
