How does a 2.5 in diameter anal plug compare to a 2.5 diameter dildo? Is it easier or harder to insert anally? Do dildos feel better than plugs? I have never actually used a dildo except for one that was 1.75 in diameter.

Best to make stops at something like 2" and 2.25" along the way. Go slow and enjoy the ride. 2.5" won't happen without good warm up anyways, so you might as well stock up on toys that can help you along and will work as warm up toys later, if this is a 'goal' of sorts. The Tantus Cowboy will get you there gradually, and for large plug, I recommend the Tantus A Bomb. Note, the A Bomb is not even at 2.5", but I can pretty much promise you'll find it stimulating, challenging and satisfying.

Yeah, I agree with Jimbo.
Plugs are more for plugging a hole and leaving it there. A dildo or a probe is meant to go in and out. Sometimes you have a crossover, but not too often.

I have a lot of anal experience but just not with toys really. haha. lots of home made toys. shampoo bottles and coke cans and candle holder. In the past few years i have gotten triple ripple royal, rear enders pleasure tree, classic butt plug royal and a couple others. just curious about dildos.

I prefer dildos anally, They are harder to insert but i love being filled with length and being able to move it in and out and not have to go slow. They are much more fun to me.

Plus, I like the thrusting action which isn't easy with some plugs. The only plug I have owned had the bulge before the thinner stem so when it was left in my ass and I relaxed, it actually hurt to get that bulge back out.
I have looked at getting another plug but one that is a little more even. But personally, I haven't bothered cause my dildos give me the desired effect at this stage.
