It’s going to depend on what your comfortable with.

With my husband I can handle more girthy dildos. However, when I’m alone I can only accommodate smaller vibes or dildos. I also prefer solo clit stimulation when I’m alone also.

I second that - a small variety would work best for you, but only becuase you are unsure of what you want, not becuase you have to adapt to your boyfriend's penis - sorry for putting it this way. In fact, you can be comfortable with different girths and lengths of dildo, but whatever you try, it would never take away from the experience you are having every time you are with your boyfriend. First of all, no matter how realistic of a dildo you have, it will never feel like the real thing - the pulsing, the heat, the touch of your lover's skin will always remain unbeatable. Second, but the most important point - when you are with your partner, a large percent of your sensations depend on your intimacy, you simply being close to him, sharing this moment. yes, I am talking feelings - they do make sex with a partner very different from the sex - even the most outstanding one - you can have with a toy.

Your time with sex toys is your time, your chance to explore and discover your body, find things you like or don't like and to project all of those discoveries later on to your sex life with your partner.

I think, what I'm trying to say is that both a solo session with toys and sex with your boyfriend are amazing, but it doesn't mean one can replace another - they are different, they don't have the same value, the same purpose, or the same outcome.
