I surprised my wife with both the green Vixskin Maverick and the caramel Vixskin Colossus. I was just trying to spice things up. But, both of these were dismal failures. She felt that they were much too large. I suppose it would have been better if we had a discussion before I ordered. Has anyone else had an experience surprising a partner or wife with a toy which was rejected immediately?

Definitely....he was not too keen on the Cobra Libre. Actually he used it a couple times and it has sat in the toy storage since then.

I haven't gotten anything my husband wasn't comfortable with, but this has happened the other way around. My husband bought me this vibrating anal toy at a local store, and it's just sized and shaped weird. It's too short for me to really appreciate it as a probe, but the neck is too thick for it to stay put like a plug. I gave it a few tries, but it just didn't do much for me.
