Jelly or Rubber
I am on the search for a toy to experiment with oral practice. (Something to practice with) I do not intend to use it vaginally, and if I do, I would.

Honestly, that's not it. The material can contain harsh chemicals that cause bad reactions on the skin, and in some cases people claim they have gotten cancer from the material. I did research and it seems that the softer jelly material seems to be what is the worst, so I only use hard jelly toys (and this is rare for me to even use jelly) and I give them a maximum life in my home of 4 months. After they they are thrown out, and often I will throw them out around two months of owning them.

yes, this. but the point about not being able to sterilize them is also true (in my case at least) Jelly harbors bacteria, and when you can't sterilize it, it can get pretty nasty, no matter how often/good you wash them. I actually blame my recent UTI/yeast infection combo on an old jelly vibrator.... I NEVER get UTIs or yeast infections, I actually didn't know what was wrong with me when I got them! The only thing I had been using was this vibrator. I threw it out 3-4 months ago, when this incident happened, and no more problems!

A lot of toys that are attractive to me are made from jelly but I won't use that material.

They also often have a noxious smell to them, ranging from unpleasant to actually migraine-inducing. And they can damage other toys just by touching them in storage.
