Looking for a new dildo and/or harness. Help!

Contributor: phoenixfire phoenixfire
Hubby and I have the New Comers kit harness and dildo set. You can check out my review on it if you like, but the short version is that we really enjoy pegging--just not with this dildo, which is too short for us in most positions.

We have put it off a while, but we're now discussing getting another dildo for the harness we have, or even a new set entirely. Hubby likes the safety of silicone but would be open to glass as well. I have searched the site a ton and end up with more options than viable answers.

What, IYHO, is the best dildo or dildo and harness for the money, and why? What would you recommend to a friend?

Thanks!

For a harness, i would absolutely recommend the RodeoH harnesses. You're unlikely to find a truly nice harness in a "set" but Eden does give discounts on most harnesses and flared dildos when purchased as a set. The option is on most harness pages to add a dildo for a discount. The RodeoH's are super comfortable and easy to wash. They're fast and easy to put on and my Mistress and i both think they look really sexy. They have a girly version with lace, which i have and i adore it. All of the RodeoH's are ostensibly machine washable and the regular ones seem to do just fine with a gentle cycle wash and line dry. The lace one doesn't hold up to machine washing however, so after destroying one that way and having to return it for a replacement, i hand wash mine.
For a dildo, i really think you can't go wrong with just about any of Tantus' flared base dildos. My personal favorite is the Mark 02 dual density, but of course it will depend greatly on what shapes and designs you prefer. What size and shape do you prefer? Realistic styling or non-realistic? Do you prefer smooth or texture? Do you like a pronounced head? Would you like a curve or angle or more of a straight forward design? What about color? Mark is slightly curved, realistic styling with veins and pronounced head, but does come in a jet black color which disguises some of the realism a bit, about 6 1/2" long and 1 1/2" diameter. At that size, we have little trouble with positioning but at times it's just a tiny big too long for me. i'm unsure what size you've been working with since i'm not familiar with the kit you referenced so i can't make much of a specific recommendation for an upgrade. Tantus has a huge line of dildos so you're sure to find something that will please you both, all of which are very high quality silicone. You might also look at the Vixen dildos which tend to be pricier but are very high quality.
Good luck. Let me know if you have any other questions i can help with.

The Sportsheets harnesses are decent harnesses, so as long as it's working for you I'd go ahead and keep that harness and get a new dildo. You can always upgrade later if you want to. The big reason to change the harness now is if you want to go over 1.5" in diameter, because that particular harness doesn't have a removable O-ring. I'd definitely advise against going with a kit. Kits don't save that much money, and with separates you can pick the harness you like and the dildo you like.

For a dildo, I'd go silicone. I haven't been comfortable enough to use a glass dildo for pegging yet myself, because there is just too much of a risk of something going wrong. Not necessarily perforated colon wrong, but I'd rather be safe and comfortable.

Measurements: A good dildo for pegging will be 5.5"+ insertable length. It looks like that kit comes with the Sedux Please, which is only 4.5" insertable. As far as diameter goes, get one that's as big as he's comfortable with. Bigger dildos provide better stimulation, but you don't want to go bigger than he's comfortable with. Another really good thing to look for is a curve so you get better prostate stimulation. A head can make it easier to get your bearings and see when the toy is about ready to pop out. Texture is better avoided at first. Vixen Mistress, or Tantus Curve both work well, but there are many other choices. The big thing is to sit down together so you get one you're both comfortable with as far as size, realism, design and color.

We're also new comers to pegging - and I've also watched a fair amount of pegging-porn.

What we've decided is that a dildo that is over 7" is necessary because of positional issues. It's not that I want one that deep (I'm the receiver) - it's that it's easier for my wife if she doesn't have to be too close to me.

I just ordered the Fetish Fantasy Elite 9 dildo. I'm not sure if it will be too large in diameter. This one is 8" long and only 1.5" dia link

Good luck!

This particular dildo is 5" long, with 4 1/2 " of that being insert-able. It really only works for us if we aren't standing up. Otherwise, there's just too much of a height difference between us so nothing lines up properly.

I personally find realistic dildos a bit creepy, but that isn't based on experience. I think I could get over it for a really great piece. We would both like something with a slight curve so he gets some more stimulation. I might like to try something with a head to it so that hubby gets more of a sense of what life is like for me as the usual receiver. Hope this helps. (Goes to check out what you have suggested.)

Tantus silicone dildos are fantastic! I've never been disappointed by the quality of a Tantus product!

As for harnesses, mine is terrible, so I can't be of much help there. One piece of advice is, get a nice harness! I wanted to save money by getting a cheap one, but in the end I'm having to get a nice one AND I already wasted the money on the cheap one! It doesn't actually save money, after all.

While that works great for your position, a position where you get full insertion may be uncomfortable with a dildo over 7" insertable, because on most people the rectum is only 6-7" long, and penetration beyond that can be uncomfortable (some people enjoy the sensations, but it's definitely something that you learn to enjoy, so I advise keeping it in the rectum).

When planning on your dildo keep in mind that you loose about an inch of length for the space between your bodies, so your "4.5 inch insertable" dildo only has about 3" of useable length for pegging - not enough.

If either of you don't like realistic dildos then don't get them. You can get a not-very-realistic dildo with a "head" (look at the Tantus Comet or Curve), or a "Semi-realistic" that has a more real-looking head but the rest of the dildo is pretty stylized. In any case I find a curve more important than a head.

Looking seriously at the Charmer at this point, given all the good things I've heard here about Tantus. link

Bibeatrice, the jaguar looks stunning and is on my wish list, but I'd have to lose a few inches to wear it, I believe. That, and have a lot more Eden points saved.

Thank you for all the helpful responses so far!

I'm attempting to find a double dildo that I feel that my wife would enjoy pegging me with. I posted a poll and the general consensus seemed to come back the "Share" which would then be included with an o-ring harness. That way she can at least get something more from it to. Happy pegging.
