removing core/ dildo mods

Contributor: trios trios
Since my wife refuses to use some Vixskin dildos because of their girth, I am considering cutting them at the base and removing the core. That way they will be soft and I can always put in a new thinner core (unless it is destroyed).

Has anyone modified any dildos but cutting or removing cores and substituting like I describe? Has anyone cut one in half at all? Sounds like surgery to me...

I can't imagine how you could do that and not completely ruin it. Even if you could remove the core and put in a thinner one, the softer outer part would be too big. It wouldn't just shrink to fit the smaller core.

They're bonded together - it's not like a cheap toy where the outside just "sits" on the core. Don't ruin them - keep them for later or consider passing them on (sounds gross at first, but VixSkin is silicone and therefore the next user can completely sterilize them).

That stinks. I can see that becuase the outer layer is so soft, if the inner layer were not separable then it would be ruined. Alright, I won't mess round with it!

Yeah the core and outer shell are bonded. What dildo is this you're thinking of modding?

What in particular do you mean? If it's brownie points than I can't really give you any more info - after it cures silicone is very hard to work with, and in VixSkin (and O2) the two layers are solidly bonded. These are quality toys and the workmanship shows it.

Someone this A.M. posted lots of nonsense replies. That's why I asked if someone looking for points!

That's a shame. I wonder if the company will sell just the outer silicone layer, even for the same price?

Actually I moded Cyberskin so far and will tell you how she likes it!

I took a penis extender, that is hollow. She likes the Cyberskin feel. Then I bought a 7/8" dowel and insert it into the extender and sanded down the front so it does not damage the material. I cut it to a good length for handling.

So now I have my very own modded dildo! There is some movement inside between the dowel and the cyberskin. I wonder if it will feel like real skin movement! But on the downside there is a little space when the dowel moves away (when I pull back on it)- maybe will put in something gum-like so it adheres and does not gap!
