I own the Silk Small by Tantus. According to the listing on this site, they are boilable. But up until this point I have just cleaned it with dishsoap and hot water. But I figured I should try boiling it. So after my my last session, I cleaned it like I normally do, then threw it in a pot of water, and boiled it for about 10-15 minutes. When I dumped out the water, the pan was covered in a powdery white residue. Should I be worried?
White residue on pan after boiling?

A few things could have happened.
First, you could've had white dust on the bottom of the post.
Second, that is a long time to leave it in the pot; I don't usually boil my toys for more then 7 minutes; five minutes ensures sterility. I doubt that it could have gotten hot enough to degrade the material, though.
Thirdly, however, if you left it in the pot without attending it, it could have gotten stuck to the bottom of the pot leading to some degradation of the material.
Either way, I'm sure it's not going to cause any problems with use.

So should I "stir" it occasionally? I have this image in my head that once I get a substantial collection, I can make "dildo soup"

What was the material of the pot? Did it have Teflon or a non-stick agent?
I like to 'stir' my dildos around, but I usually boil two or three at a time.
I've noticed a white residue left in the pan as well. This could be leftover body fluids that came off the toy, or residue from the soap you used. I just toss the pot I used into the dishwasher. I wouldn't use it without a very, very deep clean after making dildo soup.

It could be mineral deposits from hard water as well.

After I boiled Lonestar, there was a white residue swirling in the water, covering Lonestar and on the bottom of the pot. I had watched it boil the whole time, moving it from time to time. It never stuck to the bottom. Plus now there's a tiny black dot on the dildo that wasn't there before. It was a stainless steel pot. I can't believe its from our hard water. I boil things all the time and have never seen that.
It did wash off and I've had no problems using Lonestar since then. Still I have no idea what the residue was.

I have well water and get this all the time. I don't think it is any thing to worry about, silicone melts at a real high temperature.

It only happened to me twice, and now I make sure to wash them with soap and hot water before boiling, and it hasn't happened since.

Unless the dildo has a large area against the bottom of the pan and you have the pan up high it shouldn't get much above 212F. If you're worried you can put a steamer basket or a strainer in the pot to hold things above the bottom.
