that's a good question! I'd like to know the answer as well.
If normal toy cleaners would remove any protective coating on a wood toy?

You can read the care instructions on the material page here: link

Also, if you browse through the reviews, most of them have care instructions listed in them.

Wood can be sanitized by spraying it with a 10% bleach solution, leaving it on til it dries, and then rinsing it off.

Yeah, I know you can't boil, and it's not best to scrub. Gentle cleaners. GENTLE.

Wood does have pours, but the Finish does not. NobEssence spent a great deal of time coming up with Lubrosity. This is an approved finish by medical standards. It's non porous, non toxic, tasteless, and odorless. As long as the finish stays in tact...it's completely safe and non porous. You can clean it with a Bleach water solution and it's completely waterproof, so nothing will penetrate that finish. If you notice your finish wearing away...contact Nobssence.

For routine cleaning, a toy cleaner or soap and warm water is just fine. For sterilization, a bleach solution is safe. To be sure, review the instructions that came with the toy. Nob Essence uses a different finish than everyone else, so anything that's not waterproofed would be different. (And also porous, which is less safe, as porous materials can't be sterilized.)

Didn't know they came up with a SPECIAL finish for their toys. Very dedicated people, I would say. But still very leery of wooden toys.
