Dissappointed with gift giving/wishlist on eden

Contributor: VanillaFreeSex VanillaFreeSex
I had a contest on my blog and sent out the prizes via eden's wishlist feature. I wanted to share the experience since I had not used this before.

Only the country and state was revealed to me, so the persons info remained fairly confidential. I was not able to take advantage of the facebook friends deal as the discount button did not appear in the shopping cart. I was able to add items that were not on the persons wishlist once I added something from their list to shopping cart. (that was cool)

The biggest letdown is that they immediately received an email from EF stating what items I had sent.

Kinda took the surprise portion out of it didn't they. Did the email actually say what was included in the package?

It does.

I'm sorry you were disappointed in this aspect. It's rather helpful for the recipient though. They can be on the lookout for a package if they need to do some planning on how to sneak it in the house should that be the case.

I can look into having the item info removed from the email, but I believe it generates from the same system and has a specific set of info so if we removed it from one it would affect regular order notifications.

Sorry that happened to you. Yes I do know what you mean I have received a couple of gifts and it freaked me out because I was thinking I ordered something when I know I did not.

i am curious if it showed the person the amount i paid or if it was more like a gift receipt. also in checkout i had to fill out my name and address even though i was using gift cards...i don't know if that was in their email or not

I was going to use this feature, but it confused me too much at checkout. I had stuff for myself as well as grabbed a gift from theirs and it seemed as if it was trying to send it all to their address. So I removed it all and it was still trying even though her gift was no longer there. So, I just logged out and ordered it as normal since the person is someone I see often anyways.

The email notification does not include the amount or any of your personal information other than your screen name.

You can not do split purchases in the same order. Each order placed is to one destination so you would have to place the gift order and your personal order separately.

Often with wish list purchases, the system seems to remember the recipients address. You should have the option to change shipping address before confirming the purchase or clear your cookies and it will revert to your address.

Bummer! Since they knew the prize was something from their wishlist it would have been fun for them to anticipate it's arrival.
