For people that are difficult to shop for do you get them gift cards or is there something better out there?

I hate getting gift cards because I think it's impersonal but for some people, they prefer it.

I love getting people gift cards, and I love it when I receive them as gifts. Some people may find the impersonal, but I think they're great as they allow the person to really pick out what they want/need.

I'm all for gift cards because I'm notoriously hard to shop for. I don't take it personal because I know. Really, short of asking them flat out what they'd like, this is the best option that saves the most run-around.

My dad is next to impossible to buy for. I buy him books that he asks for, and he never reads them. I buy him a coffee mug, he'll never use it (he drinks a ton of coffee). So I get him gift cards, because at least I know he'll use them...

Make them something from scratch, make them something you think they would really like or would benefit them. Show that you took time and that you care
