What non-monetary gift are you going to give to someone this year?

I always make a habit of gifting something that does not cost money to each my family members. I am giving my husband a complete motorcycle detailing and maintenance (yes, I work on motorcycles!!), my daughter and son in law my computer & internet access for a week, my father a homemade baked good every week for a month and myself (hey, gotta keep me happy, too!) one lazy and non-productive day a month!

All ideas or contributions would be appreciated, my husband has always thought this was a goofy idea. I love it because it cannot be bought, brings good memories for later and makes people feel appreciated.

Hats, lots and lots of home made hats... with silly ears on top. If that's too material to meet the specifications, I'm thinking about giving my lover one day of servitude from me, where in I'm at his beck and call.

No specs, just wondering if I was the only one who enjoyed doing this!

A soup-in-a-jar or a flavored rice side-dish in a jar along with a sewn bag full of random goodies. Tea mixes, cookies and candies (I made peppermint bark this year, yum!) sugar scrubs and things like that.

I find that a lot of the time, things that I make are better received than something I bought. It's usually more "You made my old favorite shirt into a pillow!? Awesome!" than "... You bought me a vomit-green pillow? Great..." The only real exception is my baby brother (Who happens to be 9) who is getting a bag I sewed from the boyfriend's old BDUs (The little man wants to be a Marine when he grows up, and the boyfriend is in the Navy. It's... sort-of close.) stuffed with Pokemon toys. I may bake him something Pokemon-related, we'll have to see how long it takes me to get the rest of my baking done.

Baked sweets for most people (dad's boss, landlord, neighbor who does our lawn, etc), including Master (although the shipping came out to over $27). I knitted my best friend a scarf from my yarn stash. Currently knitting a wrap for a former-classmate's toddler when they visit at the end of the month. Had to actually buy things for my parents, though my father's is a lunch treat at our favorite Irish pub.

I am making a candy assortment this year for my stepson and mother in law & father in law. They have enormous sweet tooth's and love my baking and candies. (Wiping my brow, sweating from worry), I was getting a bit stressed about their gifts. Thanks guys for the ideas and the stories!! My daughter has taken this idea from me and is making it a tradition!
