Do you think that the color "green" is a good symbol color for "environmentally friendly"?

Contributor: Sera Sera
And if so, could make a good representative of Eden's green sex toys if put on the labels of toy packaging that is recyclable and packaging in general representing the toy?

Sorry for such a long question. I had a curious moment, and I'm hoping that you won't be too confused by what I'm asking. You may also discuss your answers, not just vote, so that what you really mean will come across as detailed as you mean for it to be. I hope this isn't too vague! I meant this question to be very detailed, and yet I hope it isn't too detailed! Thanks in advance for your answers and votes.

I like green as the symbol color and it would be a good idea to use a symbol representation for green packaging and product materials.

I don't think that green should be the symbol color-Maybe blue would, or some other color.

Green most definitely would be great to use for a symbol color...

Green is the color of leaves and shrubbery so...why not! I like it, too, it's a very nice shade of green.

I will side with Mike from Dirty jobs, you have to have brown before you can have green.

Why is this flagged? That makes no sense...
Thanks for the positive feedback guys! I agree with all of you!

I voted other because I believe the 'green' movement is pretty much a hoax. Almost anyone can call anything they want 'green' - and the largely illiterate consumers don't bother to investigate the claims.

I think green is a good color/symbol. Just because I'm used to it. Ever since I was little green was associatedwith recycling. On earth day, everything was green.

Agreed - it's become a pretty universal symbol/buzzword for environmentally friendly. Switching to another color may confuse people.

I think we're stuck with green but I associate that color with GROSS dirty water. Who wants to go swimming in a green pool or pond? Think of all the slimy things growing in it from who-knows-what kinds of waste products. Yuck!

Sky blue would be a nice color to change it to, don't you think?

I like the color green, but blue would be a nice color to compliment what already is in place.

I think green is a nice color and a great representation. But, it would be nice to have green toys that are different colors. It doesn't have to be so literal.

I always associate green with nature. So I think it's a great connection.

I can't imagine any other colour, plus the whole "Go Green" and "Green is the new black" campaigns make it sort of hard to substitute any other colour.

I think we're pretty much stuck with green at this point, a switch would confuse people.

Green is great. When someone is out in nature and they see a green plant, they feel it is healthy. When they see a yellowed or browned one, they are likely to feel it is sick or otherwise not in good condition. As such, it makes perfect sense to me that green would be the logical color to infer a healthy planet.

I think so. It reminds me of trees and lush foliage - appropriate for earth-friendly materials.
