Is there any point in buying these? I'm talking about the kind with flimsy plastic boning and hook/eye closures. I have one $300 Galleria Serpertine corset and it's the only one I wear because it gives amazing shaping and support and is very comfortable. I find the hook and eye ones difficult to put on, and the plastic boning tends to get bent up...I wish Edens carried a few higher end corsets rather than these glorified bustiers!
Cheap corsets

They work well enough for thin people who don't need a corset in the first place.

I think to wear as a sort of decoration they are okay, especially for people who can't afford a high end one. I have a couple of them and I like them, but I don't expect them to perform miracles with my figure.

I just don't find them very comfortable, and kind of tricky to put on too...I'd rather have a chemise or something I guess.

Yep. I like wearing them out as tops. I don't have a problem with them.

i think the plastic boning ones are cheap and not worth it. but it depends of if you want a corset to do what they are suppose to do or if you just want it to look like a corset.
good corsets are expensive and make your body look great. they have some waist reduction of 3-4 inches if its fitted right more if your training to go further.
the cheap ones are no different from body shapers. so they both fill a purpose just not the same one!

AGREED! Even some firmer fabric and flat steel boning would be a nice change-up. Although it would always be nice to see some real-quality off-the-rack spiral steel boned corsets here, I'm not sure that's realistic.

I wish they did, too. I do wear cheaper corsets as an every-day thing, though. I own legit corsets for special things.

but they can get so expensive!

I guess there's a point if you just want to get your feet in the water and see if you like the concept, but if you decide yes after that, I'd say no, really. Higher-end corsets are more comfy and better quality/longer lasting.

They're all I can afford, so I like them. I'm super skinny anyways, so I don't need my corsets to act like corsets, just look like them.

To answer the OP - no, I don't really think there's any point in buying them, unless you're looking for a particular look. The cheap ones are pretty much disposable. Not only can they not hold up to real corset wear, I haven't found that they're able to handle much washing or storage either.

For the most part, I can't wear them because of my heavy bust. I mean, they're cute, and I think that they're suitable for those who don't really need shaping, but if I bend them in half with my boobs, they're not really going to do much good.
