I could use some help picking sizes!

Calling anyone who has lots of Coquette lingerie!

I'm getting ready to order a couple of new things, and am debating back and forth on which size to get. I have Coquette's Red Satin and Lace Bustier in XL, and my boobs don't even come close to fitting, while the rest of fits pretty well, just the tiniest bit on the small side. Then I got the Polka Dot Mesh Corset in 1X/2X, and while my boobs fit, the rest of it has an extra inch or two of room inside (on the tighter hook setting), so I don't actually get a "corset" effect at all.

The two I'm looking at now are the Stretch Lace Corset and the Bow Bustier. Both of them have the hook and eye backs, so there isn't as much room for error as with laces.

Coquette's Size Chart:
X Large: Size 14 - 16 D Cup Waist 34 - 36 Hips 44 - 46
1X/2X: Size 18 - 22 D Cup Waist 38 - 42 Hips 46 - 52

Me: Size 14 Large D Waist 38 Hips: 41

I obviously fall closer to the XL chart, but I fit the 1X item I got a lot better than the XL. But then I'm not sure if that's because one runs small and the other large?

Anyway, the point of all this babble- if you have either of the items I'm looking at (or just a lot of lingerie experience), would you get the smaller or larger size?

Generally speaking in corsets you aim for the size 2 inches down from your waist so if you're a 38 aim for the 36 ect. My best suggestion though I haven't seen products from that brand would be the xl however it can be tricky. If your bust is bigger then what they project the 1x would likely fit better. Are the products you own from the same brand if so I'd stick with whichever fit better. link has a slew of info as does agent provocateur's site in terms of sizing

I say go with the XL. I'd rather have a corset be a bit too small than too big. Also, the corsets you're looking at seem to have a bit more breast coverage than the bustier you have, so it might work out better for you than that did.
