My partner likes to wear the shiny outfits and such. She looks great in a corset, but I actually prefer the way too big shirt (mine, pref) or bib overalls (and just that).

It's also a self-confidence thing too. Some people love how they feel in lingerie, more power to them. I support most things people do to feel good about themselves.

Most pieces are ridiculously overpriced, or don't fit properly, and like you said, they just come off eventually anyway, lol. I have Agent Provocateur pieces that have lasted for years but they cost me some bank and I don't wear them for sex. My boyfriend would rip them apart! I recently bought a costume here on Eden and it was a cheapie thing and was cute, but I think I'm going to throw it away (unless the boyfriend insists I keep it). It's itchy.

It depends for us. I have a fair amount that's inexpensive, so if it gets ripped off it's not a big deal. My husband knows to take care with the more expensive pieces.

I think it depends. If you want to shell out the money and loves how it makes you feel, go for it. If you can improvise and save the money, go for that. It all depends on how YOU feel about it.

My guy loves lingerie and always wants me to keep it on, so for me it is worth it.

Definitely worth it for me because 1) wearing it makes me feel extra sexy and 2) keeping some clothes on is a turn-on for my boyfriend, so the lingerie stays on during sex.

Personally, I think buying sexy lingerie is worth it because it can add a change of routine. My boyfriend loves it when I wear sexy lingerie or costumes just as much as he loves it when I wear a shirt of his. So, to me, it is totally worth it to buy something that I know will make his jaw drop when he comes home to see me wearing something different from the standard pajamas.

My DH doesn't care either way...but I do. While I'm glad he thinks my body is sexy sans clothing or just in a tank and panties, I like wearing lingerie. It hides anything I don't feel confident about that day, so when I look in the mirror *I* see a sexy woman. Also, the act of getting dressed up [or dressed down ] helps me get in the mood.

But, I typically don't spend a lot. I've bought some cheaper stuff here, like $25 or less. And I'm not above Walmart or Charlotte Russe for cheap pieces that can get ripped off and ripped apart. In fact, the most comfortable, sexy thong I own came from CR for $2.

I rather enjoy such things myself but if you can sew and don't feel like paying high prices for lingerie you could always make your own.
Then it will fit and look just the way you intended.

My guy isn't that into it either, but I agree that it is more for me and also helps fancy up special occasions.
