Lingerie for Daily Use?

Contributor: Alegria Alegria
I hope I'm not the only one interested in this but I couldn't find a topic for it so I figured I'd start one.

Are you interested in wearing your lingerie (corsets, garters or garter-belt, cami's) in a daily function? I've heard that corsets are better than bras in a few cases and that garter belts are best at keeping up pantyhose. A friend of mine wears her sexy camis to clubs.

Besides function, wouldn't it be an awesome "dirty little secret"?

Ooooh I forgot to ask; Can someone point me towards a few quality corset companies? I'm looking around for one to buy.

Do you want something for fashion or for waist cinching? Big difference.

I'm interested in waist cinching but I'd like to be able to wear it for fashion if I decide I don't want to cinch.

Is the main difference in the quality of their build?

When I had a brief office stint I wore stockings and garterbelt under my skirts. I always found them more comfortable than pantyhose; less hassle when going to the bathroom, too.

One of the older ladies in the same office actually wore a corselette (long line girdle). She really didn't need it as it was intended, but she said it helped her back.

Pretty much. For fashion, you could get away with a lingerie-type one like the ones on this site or even some of the Hot Topic styles. For actual waist training, you're going to want to look for something with metal boning, not plastic, and you can expect to pay far more for that.

It is indeed an awesome dirty little secret, and most of the lingerie I buy, I buy with the intention of being able to wear either under my clothing, or as clothing. The Coquette corsets are comfortable and well made, but a little too over the top to be worn out and about without an occasion. I did just wear this one out and about the other night, and it cinched pretty well for a fashion corset, and still looked fashionable.

I think this would be the best use for them. Just seems so attractive to me.

I have heard about girdles being used for posture, my grandmother did that for awhile.

I absolutely use my lingerie for daily use in some cases. Not all lingerie is meant for just the bedroom and doesn't have to be. If you are talking about using stuff from things bought here, I have used garter belts, stockings, bras, and corsets outside of the house.

I like the Hot Topic ones because they are pretty but a friend bought one and it broke super fast. I imagine if I decide to get one purely for fashion, I'd buy it from here.

It depends on what kind of corset you want. Comfort of traditional function. Coquette is a good place to start though.

That one is cute! Good for you, getting double duty out of all your purchase =P. I'm going to look further into that brand. Thanks!

I always got the impression lingerie was meant only for the bedroom and you were 'racy'. Glad to know I'm not the only one who would wear them outside without feeling strange about it.

Thanks for the help =)
