I'm planning on buying this for my girlfriend for Valentines, but I don't know what size to buy. I'm looking at the sizing chart, and it looks like she'd be a medium, but I can't tell if the sizes listed are for what your waist already is, or what it's supposed to be when wearing the cincher. Anyone have thoughts on this?

How do you lace one of these for proper cinching effect?

Loosen up the laces so that you can get all the clips in the front done, then have somebody tighten the laces in the back until you feel good and cinched in, but can still breathe.

And if you don't a warm body to help, throw the lace over a (closed) door handle and slowly walk forward until it's tight enough, then pinch the laces where you want them. Back up until you can reach the handle and untie it then tie where you want it. It takes some practice, but it's effective.

Ha, I didn't think of that...I stood in the bathroom, twisted halfway around so I could see the cinch, and worked the lacing that way. It worked, though it took a while.
