Do the anal lubes really work better? I've never tried them but regular lube isn't doing the trick for me!

I've used maximus before. It's quite thick, so works well for anal.

If you are partnered and no longer have to do "safe sex" try coconut oil.

Hey there,

Manufacturers make specialty anal lubes for a couple factors-- extra thickness, and an added numbing agent which is dependent on your preference. Are you looking for something a little desensitizing? If so, our top selling anal lube is (very creatively) called "Anal Lube".

My personal recommendation for you, however, would be "Mood Silicone". Silicone-based lubricants are perfect for anal sex because they are thicker, slicker, and longer-lasting than your average water-based lube. Mood Silicone contains no desensitizing agents, and is a great, straightforward product. One caveat: don't use a silicone-based lube with silicone sex toys-- the combination tends to cause a reaction that breaks down silicone toys over time.

Silicone lubes are nice, but I wouldn't recommend a numbing lube for several reasons. The main one is safety-- if something hurts, you need to know it right away! If you're numbed up, you might not be able to tell if you get seriously injured. In less extreme cases, numbing yourself during anal sex may mean more pain after the lube wears off.

Beyond that, though, anal sex feels amazing. It would be a shame to desensitize that area rather than taking your time so you can enjoy all the amazing sensations. Just be careful, use lots of (non-numbing) lube, and warm up with fingers and progressively larger toys (or a graduated toy, like the Doc Johnson Groove).

I've never heard of using that for anal. Work well? I assume coconut oil is pretty thin?

Thanks for all the info, extremely helpful I am in a committed longterm relationship and I enjoy anal play and anal sex, I don't want to desensitize but I read about the anal lube on this site just wanted to get feedback before I purchased something that wasn't what I needed. I think it being thicker is exactly what I need, regular lube just doesn't feel like enough and doesn't seem to last! Thanks again

I use Pjur back door (link) which is apparently out of stock. But I really enjoy it. I had some other lubes before that weren't really high quality, but this is the first silicone lube. It is harder to clean up, but it doesn't disappoint!

It can be sort of thin when it is warmed up. The trick is when it's still sort of solid and you break it up into chunks and push it into your partner's anus. Then you really have it where it's needed most. Of course then you work your coconut oily fingers over your cock for the initial penetration.
One other benefit of coconut oil of course is that it tastes good. So if in the middle of butt fucking my Baby I pull out and go down and rim her I don't have to experience the sort of bitter taste that the other lubes have.

My husband and I are both anal lovers and we have found that a Silicone Lube works really great for us...it doesn't soak in but stays the same great slippery consistency and because it's not just an anal lube we can also use it with our other toys (except for our silicone toys as I found out the hard way when I wrecked my favorite silicone toy.).

You might want to try the Pjur/Eros and System Jo brands both in their water based and silicone forms. If you can't find them here, try that massive online auction website where you can find almost anything. It rhymes with Amway.

Give Penchant Premium a try- works wonderfully for anal and lasts forever...not that I would know.
