Don't know for sure about opened but my Maximus says "best if use before 2015" My Wet Platinum says 2014.

I don't know if they all have expiration dates on the bottles, but I would say they tend to expire eventually anyway. I've had a few lubes that I didn't use but forgot to throw out for a long time that went all icky on me. They got thick or yellow or kinda dried out.

I think it does in the since of it becomes less potent after a long time.

Yep, they do. I wouldn't use it past it's date, never know what might be growing in it.

Some have expiration dates on the bottle. If it doesn't then I would say it's probably fine to use as long as you don't notice any changes in texture, colour, smell etc.

I just recently got a lube and it says expiry date 2012. So I guess most of them do but we don't really notice. I wodner what the average time of use is optimal for a lube. I wonder what 50 year old lube looks like...sorry, tired.

They'll normally say somewhere on the bottle/package if they do.

Absolutely. Almost every lube I have gotten has an expiration date. If a lube does not have one I would stop using it after 18 months or if you notice a change in smell, consistency, and or color

Some of my lube has had an expiration date. If it does, it will be located on the bottle.

It might but it takes a while. I have a lube that tastes nasty so I use for personal use and its 2 years old and still looks the same as when I bought it.

I think the only lube I have that doesn't have an exp date is powdered lube.... But of course after mixing don't save it for more than 24 hours since it has no preservatives.

I had a bottle of Sliquid go bad on me. There was just a tiny bit left, so I set is aside and promptly forgot all about it, only to find it months later with mold or something growing in it.

I just looked at my Aqua bottle and it has a "good for 12 months after opening" symbol on it.

Yep. This one. I don't think I've ever owned a bottle that didn't have an expiration date. The dates are usually at least 4 years in the future. Flavored lubricants tend to have a shorter lifespan.

There is a theoretical expiration date for lubes, because some of them may get things growing in them or react with the air (mostly water and oil-based, respectively). It's not hard-and-fast, but if you're using a lube after the date you'll want to check it out (smell, feel, look) before using it on potentially delicate areas of your body. AFAIK silicone lube is pretty indestructible.

I just looked at a couple of my bottles of lube, and they're dated 08/2012 and 11/2012. Still, if you open the tube and it looks/smells funny, then use your own discretion and common sense.
