Are glycerins and parabens in lube a dealbreaker?

I don't have a whole lot of experience with lube, I've tried H2O Chocolate flavored lube and had a terrible experience with it, and I've tried this Smooth & Slick lube and it works well with my toys and during sex.

However, the more I read about lubes, the more concerned I get with the ingredients. I checked the back of the bottle of Smooth & Slick and much to my dismay, it contains glycerin and methylparaben.

Even though I haven't had any problems with the lube yet... I'd really like to keep it that way.

I don't know if there would be a better lube I should switch to or if I shouldn't really be too concerned with the ingredients ? Also, should I be concerned with using this during anal play ?

I think it's important to always be knowledgeable about what you put in your body. If you do some research, you'll find that glycerin is bad in a lube because it is a sugar derivative and can cause yeast infections. Parabens are bad because they are related to cancer. If you want to start using safe lube, the brand I recommend is Sliquid. None of their products contain glycerin or parabens, and are in fact healthy for intimate areas. They're available here on Eden; I highly recommend checking out reviews. Hope this helped!

Thank you ! I had done some research on glycerin and heard it could cause yeast infections, but I'm not very prone to them so it wasn't a huge issue for me, just something I was a little worried about.

I think the parabens are the big red flag for me. I'll give Sliquid a look ! Thank you so much.

The way I see it, why use those types of lubes if safer options are available? One good lube with very few ingredients is the Ride H2O. It's water-based so it will be safe for all toys and it works well for anal as well.

I have to second Sliquid, I use their Sea lube and I've never had any problems with it. I'm very sensitive to things like lubes and different toy materials but Sliquid is now my go-to lubricant.
