If you are sensitive to glycerin in lubricants, what do you do at the doctor's?

Contributor: charletnarouh charletnarouh
For women who are sensitive to glycerin, how do you handle doctor's visits when they use K-Y or similar glycerin based lubricant for pelvic exams/paps? Do you bring your own? Ask them to use something else? Or just let it go since it's not an every day thing and it's a small amount? Would a doctor use a different lubricant if you asked them to?

Ohhh thanks for letting me know! I always thought the doctors use some medical grade stuff for that kind of thing.

I would bring my own lubricant. They won't refuse to use that.

I don't have to worry about that, but I would bring my own to the doctors office

I've always asked if they had anything glycerin free and been told no. So I've let them use the normal stuff and had mild reactions (I wash it out as soon as they're done). Recently I bought the single use packs of Sliquid Organics Natural that I plan on bringing next time I go.

I don't have any reactions to glycerin, but if I did I would bring my own for them to use.

I've never had any reaction to what the doc uses so I guess I'm not glycerin sensitive. Never thought of that 'til now.
