Used silicone lube on my silicone dildo?

Contributor: Alycat Alycat
Hey - first post here. So, I only learned recently not to use silicone lube with silicone toys (recently as in today). I bought a new toy yesterday and proceeded to put my lube on it, only to find it felt a little weird. I stopped using it, cleaned it off, and put it away. I decided to look up if this was normal, only to smack myself upside the head once I realized what I'd done.

Can I still use this toy? It doesn't feel all that different (a bit sticker then when I first got it, but hardly noticeable.) is there anything I can do? If I use water based in the future should I be alright?

Thanks,
Aly

p.s - the toy I used is this. link

I never realized amazon had that kind of collection... In any case, i've done that before as well, and never had issues. If a bunch of stuff flaked off, I'd make sure it's washed clean, but you should be good.

the reaction (solvation) is different depending on the silicone toy (how polymerized) and the silicone type ingredients in the lube. if the toy is feeling like normal after cleaning and drying, it should be fine to use. If the toy is gummy, sorry, but you killed the toy. Silicone lube can dissolve silicone toys the way water dissolves a block of salt...kinda.
