Taste, price and sensation all play a role in my choosing a lube, but ingredients and lube type (water, oil, silicone) are the main factors.

Functionality!

I'm sensitive to chemical smells, so my favorite lube (Satin by Sliquid) is my favorite based on performance first, then ingredients, then lack of chemical smell.

i said price but really it's whats in it that usually effects my purchase

Ingredients are a huge factor for me. After that I would say price.

Whether or not it works. It has to perform for us.

Price. I'm not keen on paying a lot for something like lube, so I just buy whatever works out as the best value for money.

Safe and all natural ingredients. Organic if possible. Then I will start considering function out of those left!

One you also don't have up there is ingredients. Then I look for the others.
03/30/2013
None. I buy em according to the ingrediants and only water base
03/30/2013
Price and ingredients.

Ingredients mainly, and reviews. I want something that is effective as well as body safe.

Ingredients and functionality. I don't want anything that's all man-made chemicals, or with ingredients that often cause reactions in sensitive individuals. Why take a chance on unknown long-term effects when there are better options? Right now, we're pretty much in love with Sliquid Organics Gel. We've tried a few others and it blows them all away in terms of functionality. AND it's made of wholesome ingredients. Win.

I based it on sensation. But I also knew I wanted a thick, water-based lube. That wouldn't stain. That doesn't dry up quickly. (Maximus!)

A combination of price and sensation, and also toy compatibility. Taste doesn't factor into it at all, as I never plan on getting lube anywhere near my mouth.
03/31/2013
Other: Effectiveness, that is to say, how well it lubricates and how long it lasts.
03/31/2013
Price, we don't care much for the flavored ones
03/31/2013
I buy based on ingredients, I try to avoid chemicals
03/31/2013
Price and type. I like thick water based lubes and just fell in love with Maximus. A little pricey, but I loves it.
03/31/2013
Ingredients. I also prefer thicker gel types.

I'm very much in the same boat when it comes to how i choose a lube, although price is also a big reason as well as ingredients - since i only use lubes for personal/anal use so tase and sensation do not appeal to me.

Functionality, quality, and price are the most important factors for me.

Definitely the way it feels. I went through two affordable but awful ones before finally discovering that there were better ones out there.

Ingredients!
I like all purpose water-based lube.

Sensation (texture) and material compatibility are the only things that factor in to my choice here.
