Material of the Tenga 3D

I'm pretty sure this is not made of 100% silicone (I think the same of the Tenga eggs by the way). I went online and I tried to get more information, and within the Q&A section, this is what I found:

"You may use body soap but please refrain from using any soap with high acid or alkaline content as they may erode the elastomeric material."

Oh and for the Tenga egg, they say they are made of "super stretchable elastomer".

It's still a good material for sex toy, and I'm not worried about it, but after touching the texture of the egg, it would have been surprising to find such stretchability in pure silicone.

We might just have to wait for someone to get one and flame-test it.

I didn't realize that it was said to be pure silicone. I couldn't imagine that working for a masturbator at all!

Just got mine, in the instruction sheet is says "Ag Antibacterial Elastomer"

As far as the eggs go, I did flame test mine and it came through untouched. After hearing about them being elastomer, I might have to go check my Maven and see if it holds up to the flame as well.

Silicone can be soft and supple, just look at 02 or Vixskin.

Indeed. Silicone's nice, but I never knew it could be so amazingly soft until I got a hold of VixSkin and - for extreme squishiness - Super Soft silicone.

Makes me wonder if they'll ever use those materials for a masturbator? Bad Dragon already makes masturbators out of pure silicone, so it must work for at least some people. Alas, lacking a penis, I can't verify how well they work personally.

I am sure as the price of the softer silicone comes down we will see more strokers/masturbators made. I would guess that is the reason most of the dildos are made with a different core material. A stroker would take a LOT of material to make and be pretty expensive.

The question is, who will make one first? The race is on!

I can't wait to see masturbators made of a softer silicone as well, but the seeing how flexible the Tenga eggs are, it was hard to believe it would be pure silicone. Even with the Tenga 3D just by looking how easily it was reversible. Although it would have helped if I ever got my hands on the Vixskin masturbator in the days, I could have had a better view for comparison.

You can make silicone really really soft depending on how much deadener you put in it. Which basically halts the process and cures it faster, leaving it a lot more supple and soft. Ive played with mixing silicone to where it was beyond softer than you would think. The only problem is when you mix it really soft it sometimes has a shorter life span in the end. It will hold up pretty well but not as well as a a regular batch of silicone.

For the reason you describe, that must be why in the product description of this new Tenga they state a life span of about 50 uses--you don't usually see that mentioned (by the company) except for the "disposables"...like the Tenga eggs. I am waiting for a review--some of the textures look interesting, some...not so much.

The Flip Hole also states that, mine has seem three times that many.
I think it is just a CYA for the company.

My review should be up by the end of the week.

We have this toy and an Ice fleshlight and the tenga feels slightly softer than the Fleshlight, but... as far as I'm told (BF), both as quite good. It also has the advantage of being lighter and it gives the arm a break.

Yup, sure is. If only the Tenga 3D was made from it. Maybe some day, until then the Elastomer is very nice.
