If you have a toy that is not waterproof, waht cleaner do you recommend?
Also, if it says only water based lubes..will it truly ruin the toy if you use anotehr non water basd lube?
Finally, which toys do use condoms on and why?

I only use condoms if I'm sharing them with a partner. I don't really buy toys with material that I feel would need a condom during solo play. It would be too much of a hassle for me.

As for cleaning, I just wash it with soap and water and avoid the battery compartment. Or use a toy wipe.

Use the water based lube. I have a couple items that were used with silicone lubes--on TPR and silicone toys--they are damaged!! The material is chinking!!

Also, grab a toy cleaner spray--Lelo is a good one--and mist the item lightly then wipe clean. The Eden wipes also help....I am sooooo picky about my toys, just ignore my rambles.

I use condom with anal play. I use soap and water but just very careful.

For cleaning, I use the toy cleaner my store sells. Comes in a spray bottle, easy peasy. Depending on the shape of the toy, I'll either cover the buttons with my fingers and wash the underside (what I do for my Lelo Siri) or wipe it down with a wet cloth instead of holding it under a running tap. And then it'll go onto a separate towel to dry, to prevent another toy from dripping on it.

If the toy says to stick with water-based lubes, stick with water-based lubes. It's usually due to chemical interactions between the lube and toy material, but I have recommended customers stick to water-based lubes for non-waterproof toys for ease o0f cleaning.

I used condoms on silicone toys when I want to use silicone lubes; when I want to use a toy I can't sterilize anally, or when I can't sterilize my silicone toys between anal and vaginal use; and sometimes when I just don't feel like cleaning my toys.
